Over the course of the last year or so, our world has edged ever closer to a third global conflict, one that would without a doubt lead to unparalleled levels of death and destruction. After all, major world powers sucked into this kind of a war would employ the use of electromagnetic pulse weaponry and nuclear missiles. Global populations would be decimated. It’s truly horrific to picture what such a world would look like in the aftermath of such a disaster.
However, if things continue the trajectory they are on, we may have a little more time before the Big One drops. Thanks in large part to a ceasefire deal that is currently being worked out by Israel and Gaza. According to ZeroHedge, such an agreement was signed in Doha, but it has a few more hurdles to clear on Israel’s side before it becomes binding. The good news is the Israel security cabinet has already put out a formal approval.
The agreement will now move on the the full cabinet where it will be discussed and given a final vote. A decision is expected to be reached before Jewish Shabbat starts. The security cabinet is recommending that “the government approve the proposed outline.”
A statement by the Israeli prime minister’s office indicated the cabinet accepted the deal “after examining all political, security, and humanitarian aspects; and with the understanding that the proposed deal supports the achievement of the war’s goals.”
There are still expected to be some holdouts arguing against, however:
The PMO does not reveal who voted to support the move, but Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich’s Religious Zionism party and National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir’s Otzma Yehudit party both said they would not back the deal.
Earlier, the government said that the plan will still be implemented as of Sunday despite the bureaucratic delays, which means the High Court will still need to hold a hearing into petitions against the agreement, though it is not expected to intervene.
President-elect Donald Trump and President Joe Biden were among the first world leaders to voice their support for the ceasefire deal. Shockingly, Hamas put out an initial statement that celebrated the agreement as a “win” over Israel’s military, which has not had much success in removing the terrorist organization from within the strip. Leadership from the group said “the legendary steadfastness of the great Palestinian people and the valiant resistance in the Gaza Strip.”
It seems humility is not a virtue in the Islamic religion.
According to more of the latest details via an Al Jazeera summary:
- Hamas says that obstacles that arose in relation to the terms of the Gaza ceasefire agreement were resolved at dawn today, according to a statement issued by the group.
- The Israeli media has published names of the 33 Israeli captives who are going to be released in the first phase of the ceasefire agreement.
- If approved by the Israeli government and cabinet, the ceasefire deal could proceed by the planned timeline, with captives freed as early as Sunday, according to a statement from the Israeli PM’s office.
- Israeli attacks are intensifying on densely populated areas in the Gaza Strip, including in Gaza City and northern border towns, according to Al Jazeera’s Tareq Abu Azzoum, reporting from Deir el-Balah.
Yesterday, Isreal & Hamas agreed upon a ceasefire; it will start on Sunday.
In the meantime, Israel continues its bombardment of Gaza. At least 80 have been killed since the deal was announced.

This could be considered a huge victory for Trump and his diplomatic efforts. Many on the left might end up wondering what took the current administration so long to do anything about the situation between Israel and Hamas.
However, it’s important to note that while this is certainly good news, many of these agreements in the past have only been temporary. Which means there is a real danger of the same conflict exploding back into reality and potentially leading to World War III.
Not to mention the battles going on between Iran and Israel. The Iranian regime is most definitely still a threat to the Jewish State. Tensions are very much active and growing, so we’re not out of the woods yet.
